Artist's Description

Algonquin Park's best known (and loved) fox, "the old man", resting in the snow. Easily recognizable due to his bold nature and the distinctive pink markings on his nose. We were fortunate to have this opportunity to photograph him last winter, looking healthy with a thick winter coat. This year, a nearby wildlife sanctuary is hoping to be able to trap and treat him, due to reports that he has an injured leg and mange. We were told last winter that he was at least 12 years old, well beyond the expected lifespan of 2-5 years.

Tracy Munson

Tracy Munson is a blue-haired, wine-drinking, nature-loving, bunny-hugging, Canadian Landscape and Animal Photographer. For many years, she traveled around Canada in a tiny car, with a large man, a tent, and two chihuahuas. After seeing it all, Atlantic Canada kept drawing her back and in 2018 she escaped city life for good, relocating to the beautiful Bay of Fundy region of New Brunswick to pursue photography full-time. With her bold and vibrant images, Tracy strives to capture ordinary scenes in extraordinary light. Endlessly inspired by the wonders of the vast Canadian...
