This humpback whale put on quite a show for us, on a whale-watching boat tour out of St. Andrews, New Brunswick. He slapped his fins, and dove and breached for about 45 minutes, all right in front of this little island with a lighthouse. It was very considerate of him to perform in front of such a perfect background!
I've been whale-watching a bunch of times, but this was hands down the best time I've had!
A humpback whale is breaching dramatically in front of a rugged coastline where a white lighthouse stands prominently on the cliff. The scene captures a striking contrast between the serene lighthouse and the dynamic action of the whale.
