Kawartha Highlands Canoe and Paddles is a beautiful capture Tracy

Artist's Description

A yellow canoe, with paddles propped up against a tree at our backcountry, island campsite on Cold Lake in Kawartha Highlands Provincial Park, Ontario.

This was such a beautiful campsite, we had a small island, all to ourselves. It was near the far end of Cold Lake, so it was very peaceful and even though it was peak season, we saw very few other people paddling by in the distance.

For some reason, the day before this camping trip, I decided to spend several hours looking up all the fatal black bear attacks that have ever occurred in Canada. Spoiler alert - there are not a lot of them, BUT any are too many when you can hear something snuffling around outside your tent at 2 AM. What I'm trying to say is that I slept poorly on this trip. And I have nobody to blame but myself.

About Tracy Munson

Tracy Munson

Tracy Munson is a blue-haired, wine-drinking, nature-loving, bunny-hugging, Canadian Landscape and Animal Photographer. While living in Toronto, Tracy took every opportunity to escape the city and her rewarding but stressful job in one of the country's largest Animal Shelters. For many years, she traveled around Canada in a tiny car, with a large man, a tent, and two chihuahuas. After seeing it all, Atlantic Canada kept drawing her back and in 2018 she escaped city life for good, relocating to the beautiful Bay of Fundy region of New Brunswick to pursue photography full-time. With her bold and vibrant images, Tracy strives to capture ordinary scenes in extraordinary light. Endlessly inspired by the wonders of the vast Canadian...
