I photographed Midnight for the local animal shelter's annual calendar fundraiser, which raised over $6000! This adorable black kitten had been recently adopted from the shelter, so it was extra meaningful that he was one of the winners in the calendar contest. As soon as I saw him, I knew a black background would be perfect to highlight his features!

A fluffy black kitten with a playful expression, reaching up to bat at a colorful feather toy dangled above it. Its bright yellow eyes are focused intently on the feathers, and the dark background highlights the cat's silhouette and the vibrancy of the toy.
